Born in 1952 in Yeşilyurt, Cemal Tunceri is a professional mechanical engineer who is involved in arts. He started drawing cartoons in 1982 and is one of the establishers of Cypriot Turkish Cartoonists’ Association.

His cartoons were published in various newspapers and magazines published in Cyprus including Kıbrıs Postası, Ortam, Bozkurt, Halkın Sesi, Akrep, Lololo, Kıbrıs, Çağ Ses, Yelpaze, Yeni Düzen, Kıbrıslı, Cyprus Diyalog, Yeni Duzen Sanat and Adres Kıbrıs.

His cartoons were displayed in international exhibitions and took place in albums in Cyprus, Canada, Turkey, Italy, Bulgaria, Belgium, Japan, Macedonia, England and South Korea.

Cemal Tunceri is a member of the Federation of Cartoonists’ Organization (FECO) and has a FECO International Press Card.

 He published the “Isırgan Otu” cartoon album in 1996 and the “Güldüşün – Siyah Noktacıklar” cartoon album in 2006. He won many prizes in various national and international cartoon contests.


He was born in Nicosia in 1951, Turkish Cypriot. Artist (Poetry  Painting – Sculpture), Columnist, TV – Radio programmer.


Ezcan Özsoy was born in Paphos, Cyprus in 1961. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Engineering of Gazi University in Ankara – Turkey. He was the General Coordinator of the media organ of the Union of the Chambers of Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architects of which he is a member of, which publishes the professional magazines “Mimarca”, “Teknik Gözlem” etc.

 He published cartoons in the Mimarca, Yeni Düzen, Birlik, Halkın Sesi, Özgür Düşünce and Güneş newspapers and was a newspaper columnist.

 He is currently a newspaper columnist in the “Güneş” newspaper where he is also publishing his cartoons.

 He is a member of the Cypriot Turkish Cartoonists’ Association and the Federation of Cartoonists’ Organization (FECO – CYPRUS).


Mustafa Tozakı was born in Aybifan – Solya (Lefka) in 1957. He started drawing cartoons in 1982. His cartoons were displayed in many international cartoon festivals in many countries besides Cyprus.

 He has been “Member of the Jury” in various national and international cartoon contests. He was elected the cartoonist of the year many times and won numerous awards in national and international cartoon contests.

 He is currently drawing cartoons for the Yeni Düzen and Havadis newspapers. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Cypriot Turkish Cartoonists Association.



Bernard Bouton is a renowned French cartoonist and collector of cartoons. His first cartoon was published in the French periodical “L’Express” in 1974 and since that time numerous of his artworks have appeared in many newspapers and magazines all around the world.

 Bernard Bouton has taken part in many international cartoon contests and for his original work of art he has been awarded a large number of prestigious prizes (we can mention at least some of them: 1983 – Médaille d’Or (Gold Medal) in Paris – France; 2004 – 3rd Prize in Bjelovar – Croatia; 2005 – 3rd Prize The international competition “Napoleon” Brno, Czech Republic

 He is often invited to be a member of juries at international cartoon contests in many countries worldwide. Bernard Bouton is having an important function in the global organization FECO (Federation of Cartoonists Organisations), he is its President General. He is living and working in Francheville near Lyon, France.


He was born in Limassol in 1958. He has studied in the university in Ankara between 1977 – 1983 and graduated from Ankara State Academy of Architecture and Engineering as constructional engineer.

He started working in the Kyrenia Municipality in 1985 as constructional engineer. Later on, he was the head of Public Works, Development and Water Works Department. In 1995, he was appointed to the Kyrenia Municipality Directorate.

In local elections held in 2014, he was elected Mayor in Kyrenia. Good command of English and Greek.


Cristina Sampaio lives in Lisbon. She graduated in 1985 from the Lisbon School of Fine Arts. She has been illustrating children's books since 1987 and has worked since 1986 as an illustrator and cartoonist for several magazines and newspapers in Portugal and abroad.

 Among other awards, in 2002, 2005 and 2009 she received an Award of Excellence from the Society for News Design (USA) and in 2009 a Silver Medal from SND Spain. In 2006 and 2010 she received the Stuart Award for the Best Portuguese Press Cartoon. In 2007 she received the First Prize in the editorial category of the World Press Cartoon and an Honorable Mention in 2009.

He was born in Limassol in 1962. After moving to Güzelyurt (Morfou) from Limassol, he is one of the four formers of Güzelyurt Art Association (GÜSAD) in 1983. Later in 1990, he got married and moved to Kyrenia where he will be the pioneer for the foundation of Kyrenia Municipality Theatre Studio (GIBETSU).

He worked as director in 2006-2007 in the Cyprus Turkish State Theatre. He is still working as general art director in GIBETSU. He has been assisting International Kyrenia Olive Festival at top level and he is one of the members of the panel of jurors for the olive featured cartoon competition which is organized by Kyrenia Municipality. He is married with one daughter and he speaks Greek at good level and English at intermediate level.


She was born in 1970 in Tehran – Iran. She works with several newspapers such as “Shargh”, “Etemad”, “Farhikhtegan” and a news website “Khabaronline.”

 She is member of International Cartoon Group “Cartooning for Peace.” She has acted as a referee in many international cartoon contest in Iran and also in 29th Aydin Doğan Cartoon Contest in Turkey.

 She also received several awards for her cartoons during festivals in Iran and has been one of the 4 Iranian cartoonists who were awarded by Kofi Annan in 2012.


He was born in 1964 in Nicosia – Cyprus. He started drawing cartoons in 1976 under the influence of the "Gır-Gır" Humour Magazine in Turkey. His cartoons have been published in various newspapers and magazines in Cyprus as well as in many countries of the world since 1983.

He is one of the four founding members of the “Cypriot Turkish Cartoonists’ Association” which was established in 1986. Since then, he has been the President of this Association. His works have been exhibited in more than 60 countries and they have been published in international cartoon albums.

He has won 137 awards in various national and international cartoon contests and has many times been elected the “cartoonist of the year”. He has been the president of the Cyprus Turkish Cartoonists’ Association for 23 years.


He was born in the old City of Famagusta on 12 March 1950 and had the first seven years of his childhood in this town. Moved to Nicosia in 1957 because of his father’s duty. Completed his elementary and secondary school education in Nicosia. His interest on cartton art arose during those years. His years in İstanbul Technical University (1969 – 1975) he dealt with cartoons and his first work was published in “Akbaba” Humor-Cartoon Magazine in 1975.

His works were exhibited in many national and international exhibitions worldwide and published in the albums prepared for these occasions. Founder member of Cypriot Turkish Cartoonists’ Association and holds the international press card of FECO. He is an architect and a member of the Turkish Cypriot Union of Chambers of Engineers and Architects.

He acted as juror in the national and international cartoon contest organized in Cyprus. Currently, he works as freelance architect. He was awarded numerous prizes in the cartoon contest. He is the Secretary General of the Cypriot Turkish Cartoonists’ Association.


Musa Kayra started drawing cartoons in 1979. His caricatures were published in magazines and newspapers; Yeni Düzen, Söz, Kurtuluş, Kıbrıs Postası, Akrep, Ortam, Halkın Sesi, Olay, Kıbrıs Sanat, Toplum Postası (London), Avrupa, Afrika, Haberdar, Adres Kıbrıs.

He exhibited his cartoons in Bremen (Germany) once, in Cyprus twelve times, Ojisek (Croatia) once and in England five times. His cartoons were among the works which were subsequently published in a book form. In 1973, he made a short cartoon animated film in Turkey. He published the cartoon albums “Cızzzgıcıklar” in 1983 and “Karikayra” in 2005.

In 1986, he founded the Cyprus Turkish Cartoonists’ Association with four other friends and has long been the General Secretary of the Association. Currently the President of the Turkish Cypriot Cartoonists Association. He has won 50 awards in various national and international cartoon contests.


Mustafa Azizoğlu was born in Nicosia in 1954. His cartoons were published in Gençlik, Yeni Düzen, Birleşik Kıbrıs, Turunç, Çağrı, Cyprus Observer and Adres Kıbrıs, Poli newspapers – magazines.

 He participated in various national and international cartoon exhibitions and his cartoons were published in cartoon albums. He is a member of Cypriot Turkish Cartoonist’s Association and FECO – CYPRUS.


He was born in Manisa in 1959 and moved to İzmir in the beginning of the 1970s. His admiration for cartoon art which started in his childhood transformed into a passion afterwards. His first cartoons were published in the humor magazines “Akbaba” and “Fırt” in 1976. Since then his works were published in hundreds of newspapers, magazines, books and albums.

He acts as the owner and editor in chief of “Maydanoz” humor magazine, publishing coordinator of “Neşeli” humor magazine of the Konak Municipality, editor in chief of “Gülen Karabağlar” humor magazine and the president of İzmir Cartoonists’ Platform.

 Mustafa Yıldız prepared solo and group cartoon exhibitions all over Turkey, organized cartoon and humor festivals, acted as juror in cartoon contest. He is organizing cartoon workshops in schools and municipalities and gives lectures in these performances. He won 38 prizes in national and international cartoon contests.


He was born in 1943 in Tire. He taught elementary school for 5 years. With the encouragement of cartoons by the famous Turkish draws cartoons began.

In many newspapers and magazines published in Turkey has worked as a professional cartoonist. In 1980, "Çarşaf" Humor Magazine Cartoon School (one semester with instructor Semih Balcıoğlu) ruled until 1992.

 5 personal cartoon exhibition opened, seven personal collection of cartoons published. Artist's cartoons Bulgaria, Italy and Canada were included in the international cartoon museum. “Contemporary” Humor Magazine (1975 – 1976), “New Bag" Humor Magazine (1978 – 1980) was published.
